Cuyahoga Valley History
Located in the state of Ohio, Cuyahoga Valley has been home to many people such as, Native Americans. Between the 1600s and 1730, Native Americans used this land in order to trade and hunt. In the late 1700s, families from New England states started moving and settling down in the Cuyahoga Valley, where they ended up becoming farmers to provide for their families. In 1974, Cuyahoga Valley was established and officially became a National Park in 2000. Since then it has allowed visitors from all over to be immersed in 12,000 years of history.
Things to do
Scenic Train Ride
All aboard! This train ride allows you to enjoy the nature and wildlife that Cuyahoga Valley has to offer. For an inexpensive price, you get to sit back and enjoy the ride. This train ride allows visitors to get dropped off or picked up at the Towpath Trail where you can go hiking, biking, running, or even kayaking.
Canalway Questing
Bringing young kids with you on your trip? The Canalway Questing is a perfect activity for them. This quest takes kids and adults on an adventure in the Ohio and Erie Canals. Participants of the quest get an adventure of a lifetime.
Night Sky
At Cuyahoga Valley, the fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down. You can enjoy the night sky with the numerous astronomical events that Cuyahoga Valley has to offer visitors year-round.
Bird Watching
Due to the variety of habitats located at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, bird watching has become a popular activity among visitors. This activity can be done during any season, and with a guide and some binoculars you can see more than 200 different kinds of birds
