Module 4
Objectives

You should be able to apply your knowledge of National Parks and create a pamphlet with appropriate information.

You should be able to understand how the West differs from other regions.
Before you get started
You will need to make sure you have the following materials:
1. The map of the United States used in previous modules (select the PDF icon)
2. An orange crayon or colored pencil
3. A pencil
4. Crayons, colored pencils or markers
5. Access to West Coast Region on Epic (select the image to access the book)
6. Visit a National Park Final Activity (select the PDF icon)
7. KWL chart used in previous modules (select the PDF icon)
Steps
1. Using the map provided in the West Region section, color the states that make up the West using your orange crayon or colored pencil.
2. Learn about the West by reading West Coast Region on Epic.
3. Learn about the Great Sand Dunes, Yellowstone, and the Rocky Mountains National Park which are located in the West.
4. Now that you have learned about National Parks from four different regions, you will now be completing your final project. In this project you will need to pick one National Park and fill out the pamphlet appropriately. Depending on what National Park you select, you will need to reference that module in order to help you fill out the information.
5. Look at your KWL chart, in the 'W' column, is there anything that you wanted to learn that you did learn today? If so, place a check mark by it. In the 'L' column write down two new things that you learned.
