Module 2

Objectives 
  • You should be able to contrast the Midwest and Northeast Regions. 
  • You should be able to identify two different characteristics of the Northeast. 

Before you get started

You will need to make sure you have the following materials:
1. The map of the United States used in module 1 (select the PDF icon)
2. A red crayon or colored pencil
3. A pencil
4. Crayons, colored pencils or markers 
5. Access to What's in the Northeast on Epic (select the image to access the book) 
6. The writing activity (select the PDF icon)

Steps

1. Using the map provided in the Northeast Region section, color the states that make up the Northeast using your red crayon or colored pencil. 
2. Learn about the Northeast by reading What's in the Northeast on Epic.
 
3. Learn about the Cape Cod National Shoreline, Delaware Water Gap, and the Shenandoah National Park which are located in the Northeast. 
4. Show what you have learned by writing an essay contrasting the Northeast and the Midwest. 
5. Look at your KWL chart, in the 'W' column, is there anything that you wanted to learn that you did learn today? If so, place a check mark by it. In the 'L' column write down two new things that you learned.
